What can I expect from a Massage?

Massage therapy is a hands-on technique which uses manual manipulation of the soft tissues of the body. In addition to affecting the soft tissues, massage induces relaxation by activating the parasympathetic nervous system and stimulates the lymphatic system. The effects of massage include relaxation, reduced blood pressure, decreased tension, improved circulation and immune system function, increased body awareness, increased flexibility, improved overall feeling of well-being, and reduced muscle tightness and spasm.
